Testing Hardware Upgrades for Our Finland Node!

At Kraken Hosting, we’re always working to provide you with the best server performance. That’s why we’re excited to announce that we’re testing a potential hardware upgrade for our Finland node (FL-1), also known as the Ravioli Node!

What’s Changing?

We’re introducing the Ryzen 7 Pro 1700X, which offers a base clock speed of 3.4 GHz compared to the current 2.5 GHz on the i5-13500. This upgrade could mean improved responsiveness and smoother gameplay for your Minecraft servers.

How Will This Rollout Work?

To ensure the best experience, we’re implementing this upgrade gradually:

  • Initial Testing: We’ll begin by transferring a small number of users to the new hardware to monitor its performance.
  • Evaluation: If the upgrade delivers noticeable performance improvements, we’ll proceed with transferring more servers.
  • Fallback Plan: If the new setup doesn’t perform as expected, we’ll revert to the i5-13500 to maintain the reliability you count on.

What Do You Need to Do?

  • Want to test the new hardware? Open a ticket, and we’ll prioritize your transfer.
  • Prefer to wait? No problem—this upgrade won’t affect your server unless you’re moved to the test hardware.

Why Are We Doing This?

Your feedback is invaluable, and this measured approach allows us to ensure the new hardware truly enhances server performance before rolling it out fully.
